Myrna is a Senior Vice President and Field Executive for Liberty Mutual Insurance. She has the privilege of leading 67 sales professionals in a 6-state footprint known as the Central Region. The region partners with over 7000 independent insurance agents in Arkansas, Kansas, Louisiana, Missouri, Oklahoma, and Texas. Her team distributes personal and commercial insurance products through Independent Agents and the book is the largest in the country at $2.5 Billion in DWP. 

Myrna started her career with Liberty Mutual over 37 years ago and has worked her way from Personal Assistant in the Underwriting Department to Senior Vice President. She held several roles throughout her 37-year career and managed several teams. She joined distribution in 1998 and grew a $350 Million Dollar DWP book to $2.5 Billion today. She is proud of her financial metrics, but even more proud of the culture she has created in the region. She manages a highly engaged organization of 67 sales professionals. 

Myrna is also very involved in Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion work within Liberty Mutual. She is the Executive Co-Sponsor of the Amigos ERG and is on the Council for Men as Allies. She just recently completed her own 4th annual Women’s Conference. She is also very involved in the IA Distribution D&I strategy that we are taking to our external agency partners. 

Myrna celebrated her 37th anniversary with Liberty Mutual/Safeco last December. Myrna is married to Rudy Murillo and lives in North Texas. She has 2 sons and 2 stepdaughters.

Sr. VP of Personal and Commercial Lines

Prior to joining State Auto, Kim was most recently Chief Product Officer for AIG’s P&C Consumer Division, where he led Product Management, Actuarial, Underwriting and Business Analytics for their Global personal auto, personal property, personal accident, travel and warranty businesses. He previously helped lead the restructuring of United Guaranty, AIG’s mortgage insurance company, as its Chief Operating Officer and later, CEO. 

Before joining AIG, he managed the Personal Auto business at Safeco and also started their innovation company, Open Seas Solutions. Kim began his insurance career at GEICO, where he held actuarial, product management and customer service roles. 

Kim is a Fellow of the Casualty Actuarial Society (FCAS). He holds an undergraduate degree from Florida State University and a graduate degree from the University of Virginia, both in Mathematics.

Commercial Lines President

Progressive Insurance Corporation


Karen was named Commercial Lines President in October of 2020. In her role, she is responsible for profit and loss, product development and deployment, agency and direct channel marketing, business development, call center operations and IT platform strategy for the $5B+ Commercial Lines business.

She began her career at Progressive in 1990 in customer service as a management trainee.  Since then, Karen has held several leadership positions including Personal Lines General Manger and Commercial Lines Controller. Additionally, she led the Agency Distribution organization for nine years positioning Progressive as a preferred supplier in the channel. Most recently she’s served as the company’s Commercial Lines Acquisition & Small Business Insurance General Manager.

Karen holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of South Carolina and an MBA from the Weatherhead School of Management at Case Western Reserve University.
