Designation Programs
Advance your career with industry-recognized designation programs through Big I Arkansas. As the state licensee for the Risk & Insurance Education Alliance, we are the exclusive provider of CIC and CISR courses in Arkansas.
For over 50 years, these programs have set the standard for professional excellence. The Alliance’s practical insurance and risk management courses are taught by active insurance practitioners, include policies and forms currently used in the field, and guide you through real-world scenarios to give you a deep understanding of what your clients are facing today.
Courses are available in-person in North Little Rock or online, giving you the flexibility to learn your way.
CIC – Certified Insurance Counselor
The CIC designation is a mark of leadership and expertise in the insurance industry, demonstrating your commitment to ongoing professional growth.
Earn your designation by completing five courses and exams, within five calendar years after you pass your first CIC exam. After earning your designation, no further examinations are required. To maintain your designation status, you are required to attend a CIC program annually before the last day of your birthday month.

- Commercial Casualty: February 18-19, 2026
- Insurance Company Operations: April 22-23, 2026
- Commercial Multiline: July 22-23, 2026
- Personal Lines: December 9-10, 2026
- Commercial Property: September 30- October 1, 2026
CISR – Certified Insurance Service Representative
The CISR designation focuses on building strong customer service and coverage knowledge—helping you better serve clients and support your agency.
Earn your designation by completing five courses and exams, within three calendar years after you pass your first CISR exam. After earning your designation, no further examinations are required. To maintain your designation status, you are required to attend a CISR program annually or a CIC program bi-annually before the last day of your birthday month.
