Scholarship Opportunities
The Independent Insurance Agents of Arkansas Education Foundation is proud to offer scholarship opportunities that support the growth and development of future insurance professionals.
These scholarships honor some of the industry’s strongest supporters and are awarded based on character, career goals, and leadership potential. Preference is given to family members and employees of Big I Arkansas member agencies.
Available Scholarships
1.CIC Scholarship Program
The Tad and Judy Krug Scholarship provides full tuition assistance for first-time attendees of the Certified Insurance Counselor (CIC) program.
- Five scholarships are awarded annually
- Each scholarship covers full tuition ($435 value)
- Must be used within 12 months of being awarded
- Recipients may attend the CIC course of their choice
APPLICANTS MUST:
- Fill out required application.
- Submissions will be accepted anytime during the fiscal year, from September 1 to August 31.
- Be an Arkansas resident and a member of the Independent Insurance Agents of Arkansas.

- Applications will be considered by the IIA of Arkansas Education Committee Foundation and you will be contacted within two weeks of submission.
2. Joseph D. “Del” Roberson Memorial Scholarship
This scholarship provides financial assistance to students pursuing a degree in insurance and risk management. Preference is given to students attending the University of Central Arkansas, but all eligible Arkansas institutions are considered.
APPLICANTS MUST:
- Submit an application by August 1 of each year.
- Be an entering freshman, current student, transfer, or non-traditional student.
- Have a declared Insurance & Risk Management major (or be enrolled in a qualifying insurance and risk management curriculum).
- Have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0
- Demonstrate involvement in university or community activities.
Additional Information
- Applicants for CIC and CISR scholarships must be actively involved in the insurance industry
- College scholarship applicants must have completed at least two years of college and plan to enter the property & casualty insurance field
